Thinking about a sustainable approach to the sale of household chemicals and cosmetics, JSC Spodrība, in cooperation with the store network Rimi Baltic, introduces the sale of bulk, package-free products. Starting from 18 January, shoppers will be able to purchase Eco Seal for Nature liquid cleaning products and liquid soaps, refilling them in their own containers, and thus finding options for reducing plastic waste in their daily habits.

Eco Seal for Nature has been offering body care and home cleaning products made in Latvia for almost 10 years, combining two important factors – effective results and ecological formulas.

“The company is pleased that from now on the brand’s most popular products for washing hands, dishes and laundry will also be available at the bulk stands for package-free shopping in the Rimi supermarket sector. This is an important step, providing buyers with an opportunity to conveniently make responsible long-term decisions with the aim of saving resources. We believe that it is the availability that will strongly encourage people to change daily habits and intensify the dynamics of leading a green lifestyle, even in those households where the buying of package-free products had previously been considered to be exclusive and time-consuming. Thanks to the Rimi team for their effective cooperation and support in the implementation of the green initiative,” explains Baiba Megre, Director of Spodrība.
“No radical changes are required for taking steps towards a better life. Changes in the buying habits of even one product can be a good investment in caring for a greener planet. Rimi, as the first retailer in the Baltics to offer certain goods package-free in its stores, provides increasingly more buyers with the opportunity to support an environmentally friendly lifestyle with their purchases, thus promoting the formation of new habits in society. If the response and demand of customers demonstrate a growing trend, it is planned to expand the product range in the existing stands, as well as to also create similar stands in other Rimi stores,” says Regīna Ikala, Public Relations Manager of Rimi Latvia.

In Latvia the stand will be available at the Rimi store in the shopping centre Spice, but in the future it is planned to place them in other stores as well. At the stand it will be possible to both fill products in containers that buyers bring along with them, as well as to buy empty storage containers right at the store.
