About SEAL
AS SPODRĪBA is the largest manufacturer of household chemicals, body care, plant fertilisers and disinfection agents in Latvia, which is known to customers through the product brands - SEAL, SEAL COSMETICS and ECO SEAL FOR NATURE found on the shelves of stores.
In English, the word SEAL denotes a sea animal that has long been a symbol of water, cleanness and purity in nature. On the other hand, SEAL stands for a signet, marking the historic significance of the brand, the lasting values of the company and the quality of its products.
SPODRĪBA operates in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 international standards and complies with good manufacturing practice (GMP) principles in the production of cosmetics.
In 2012, SPODRĪBA became the first manufacturer in the Baltic states and is still the only company in Latvia that manufactures ecological cleaning agents and cosmetics that have received the official EU Ecolabel. The Latvian Association of Bronchial Asthma and Allergy Patients has also recognised the products of the company. By selecting such products, the buyer is able to make responsible decisions and take care of their health and the environment.
The products of SPODRĪBA are highly appraised in various nominations and competitions every year. The latest nominations that we are proud of:
- SEAL Antibacterial hand soap has received 1st place in the body care category of the NielsenIQ competition BEST NEW LAUNCH AWARD 2020 in Latvia
- The products of SEAL COSMETICS - Antibacterial hand cream in 80 ml tube and Dobeles ceriņzieds (Dobele lilac) shower cream received high recognition within the IEVAS LABĀKĀ KOSMĒTIKA 2020 (BEST COSMETICS OF IEVA MAGAZINE) project of Santa Publishing House
- 3rd place in the greenest brand category in the BEST BALTIC BRANDS competition 2020 in Latvia
- Best facial skin care product Micellar water – Sensitive IEVAS LABĀKĀ KOSMĒTIKA 2018
- 1st degree diploma for the series of DŪNA fabric softener in the competition BEST PACKAGING IN LATVIA 2018
- 3rd place in the green brand top of MĪLĒTĀKIE ZĪMOLI (FAVOURITE BRANDS) competition in 2018
- 1st place in the green brand top of MĪLĒTĀKIE ZĪMOLI (FAVOURITE BRANDS) competition in 2017
To ensure comprehensive information exchange and follow the topicalities of the sector, various types of collaboration activities are implemented:
- Collaboration with other accredited laboratories in testing certain properties of the effects of new products, in the dermatological evaluation of cosmetics.
- Collaboration with private brand owners, by performing contractual orders within the framework of the full manufacturing cycle and by ensuring the development of the quality of the end product.
- Collaboration with the Association of the Latvian Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry (LAKIFA), as a member of the association.
- With the Patent Board of the Republic of Latvia.
- With the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.
- With the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- With state and municipality institutions.
- With ECOCERT - organic certification organisation.
